Poetry Analysis
Tone/Mood: creative, buoyant, magical
Poetic Devices:
rhyme- "south" and "mouth", "sea" and "galaxy"
Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF GHGH IJIJ
simile- "Imagination, gathers up the undiscovered universe like jewels in a jasper cup"
Summary:
This poem illustrates how powerful imagination is. The author tries to show the reader just how dynamic imagination is as he writes phrases like "There is a dish to hold the sea" and "Can make the ancient dead alive". Although both phrases aren't rational, the author tries to make his point that imagination has no limitations, and can defeat the impossible. By making his point, the author is probably trying to convince the readers to use their imaginations more often.
